Rap icon Tupac Shakur will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.

He will be inducted along with music stars Katy Perry and Rick Springfield.

From NewsOne:

Since his fatal, unresolved shooting death in September 1996, Shakur’s legacy has continued to shine. He has sold over $75 million worth of records, with seven of his 11 platinum records released following his death. His estate took in $3.5 million in 2010 after bringing in $9 million in 2007, eclipsing what Eminem and 50 Cent earned for that year.

The University Of California and the University Of Washington offer classes focusing on Shakur’s life and literature.
