While participating in an Olympic soccer game, black Italian player Mario Balotelli was subjected to such harsh and racist comments from fans that he broke down crying.

Balotelli was benched after being subbed out of the game. Since the video went viral, his coach and players are downplaying the incident, saying that race was not a factor.
