The former director of a West Virginia non-profit organization was removed from her position after she made a Facebook post calling First Lady Michelle Obama an “ape in heels.” This was one of countless racist incidents that followed President-elect Donald Trump’s victory in November.

It appears that the move to remove Pamela Ramsey Taylor from her position as director of the Clay County Development Corp. was only temporary, as it’s been announced she’ll be reinstated on Dec. 23.

“The state bureau’s commissioner, Robert Roswall, has warned the Clay agency that any discrimination from staff would jeopardize their state and federal funding,” reports the Charleston Gazette-Mail.

Taylor was removed from her position after a petition received more than 200,000 signatures. However, the Gazette-Mail states that her removal was, in fact, a suspension.

That petition is still running… just saying.
