A black employee at the University of Illinois at Chicago says his job was made a “living hell” due to taunts by co-workers. Chuck Conner, 49, who is a mechanic at the institution, says he’s received a black Santa Claus and a rope in the form of a noose while working there. 

    A 15-year-old transgender teen was stabbed in the back by an attacker while riding a Green Line Metrorail in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday. The victim, a D.C. resident, was being treated at a hospital for a non-life threatening puncture wound. 

The United Parcel Service (UPS) says it’s investigating one of their drivers after a man says he handed him a noose during an office delivery. Georgia resident David Mitchell says the driver acted strangely when they first encountered each other during work hours. 

A white Chicago man is behind bars after slapping a 79-year-old Cook County judge in the face for smoking a cigarette near him. Judge Arnette Hubbard was also spit on by David C. Nicosia, 55, and called “Rosa Parks” outside the Daley Center.

According to a recent report released by Affinity 95, transgender people and people of color are more likely to be victim of hate crimes, especially homicides. The report, “Violence Against Gender Non-Conforming People,” was released Tuesday. 

In December, we reported that Taj Patterson, a black, gay New York fashion student, was attacked by five Hasidic men while walking home from a night out. The men have since been charged in connection to the incident. 

A San Jose State University student who says he was a victim of racial discrimination has filed a $5 million damages claim against the institution. Donald Williams, 18, named the university, its president Mohammad Qayoumi, and others as the defendants. 

Two Houston women were discovered dead near a dumpster in Galveston County Texas. Deputies believe the women were murdered, and relatives on both sides of the tragedy are demanding answers.
