Two men who have been in Mississippi’s Hinds County Detention Center for seven years and eight years without going to trial had known mental health issues when they were incarcerated. They are among nearly 130 inmates have been in the detention center for at least a year without trial.Â
A Florida man on trial for killing an unarmed teenager over loud music said that he “had no choice” but to shoot him. Michael Dunn, 47, is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Jordan Davis at a Jacksonville convenience station in November 2012.Â
Police officers, and friends of slain teen Jordan Davis took the stand today in the second day of the trial that will decide Michael Dunn’s fate. Davis, 17, died in a gas station parking lot after an altercation over loud music. Dunn fired into the vehicle where Davis and his friends sat.Â
