We can jump on Chief Keef for what he does, but it’s unfair to attack who he is, because who is is a reflection of the world he inherited from us. That fact is something that very few of us ever even think of, let alone accept.
An anti-Obama ad, currently running on BET in Cleveland, OH, and Seattle, WA presumably expresses some black people’s qualms with the POTUS. Will this ad prove effective in the battleground state of Ohio? What do you think of the claims in the ad?
t’s a shame that Waverly’s community and parents are adamant about defending their complicity in perpetuating racial stereotypes and condoning violence against women. One can only hope that this is Waverly High School’s most teachable moment… for those open to receiving it.
The popularity of Hip Hop music and culture is steadily increasing throughout her homeland, but Firooz is truly the first of her kind. Her work speaks to the repression of women, war, and childhood trauma she experienced as a refugee in Iran. Much respect to this courageous young woman.
Very few athletes, or any person in the public eye for that matter, handle themselves with the amount of humility and class that Derrick Rose does. And I for one am so glad that he can be someone who kids look up to. More kids will believe that they can make it. Because he did.
