An award-winning music producer took to YouTube to express his feelings about the changes that have occurred in music on the radio. Producer/songwriter Carvin Haggins says that today’s music is “disrespectful”, “degrading” and that it tears “our children down.” 

  Hundreds of mostly poor students of color will be sent back to their home districts next school year. The students used  controversial Missouri law to transfer out of the failing schools, to enter better schools in predominately white neighborhoods. 

  BYP 100 is joining the long-term fight to end the criminalization of Black youth, and they’re hosting a free webinar to continue with a solutions-based conversation. The group of young activists believe that strategies that transform our lives and communities require grassroots organizing and public policy advocacy. 

According to a new report, Florida charges juveniles as adults more that any other state. The report, released by Human Rights Watch reveals that more than 12,000 children have been moved from the juvenile to adult court system in the past five years.
