The expressions, negotiations and altercations with, and of, “facts.” How we tell the truth, digest it and confirm that truth as just that; gospel. […]

Finding refuge from white supremacy in our Indigenous cultures
by Djanaïna François Someone said to me once: “God created wolf first, then us, then white people—he warned that misunderstanding others is their default, from a cultural standpoint to an existential one, as they will continuously see the world through a lense of authority.” An autumnal evening sky hovered above us and I held a […]

Calls to #AbolishICE are counterproductive unless they are also a call to #AbolishPolice
By Benji Hart In the last month, following the emergence of horrific images of migrant children being separated from their families and held in cages by border agents, the call to #AbolishICE has gone mainstream. Most notably, Congolese immigrant activist Therese Okoumou climbed the Statue of Liberty’s base on July 4th following an “Abolish ICE” […]
The hypocrisy of defending Maxine Waters against calls for civility while shaming Black non-voters
Dems say, “Stay civil,” and Black liberals roll their eyes in synch with us. How could they warn that our world is burning, then say we have no right to flood it out? Why would we let terrorizers be comfortable in our establishments, in our homes? My personal opinion: No matter how much we dislike […]
