  For the second time in two weeks, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Bridge in Fort Wayne, Indiana has been vandalized.  This time, the defacing came in the form of racist remarks on two benches. 

In December, we reported that Taj Patterson, a black, gay New York fashion student, was attacked by five Hasidic men while walking home from a night out. The men have since been charged in connection to the incident. 

    A Pennsylvania couple’s home was vandalized with words and symbols of hate. On Feb. 21, Marlene Williams and Jason Powell  found the words, “Die N***er” and “1.87,” along with swastikas spray-painted in black on their garage door. 

A 19 year-old freshman has been the victim of racist attacks dating back to August of this year. “Blacks are known to steal,” was scrawled on his dorm room door. Later, his truck tires were slashed, stereo system stolen, and the letters “KKK” and “Go Home” written on the side of the vehicle.
