Duke University officials have changed the name of a dorm that honors a known white supremacist. The dorm, formerly named after racist leader and North Carolina governor Charles B. Aycock, will now be know as East Residence Hall. 

  A Michigan teacher was suspended, and later reinstated after teaching a lesson on Blackface. Al Barron teaches at Monroe Middle School, and is set to retire in two weeks. Administrators deemed his lesson to be inappropriate. 

  Crowned jewelry company Tiffany & Co. is facing a lawsuit after being accused of racially bias practices. The suit, brought forth by a group director for the company, alleges that Tiffany & Co. executed a “systemic, nationwide pattern and practice of racial discrimination.”

 A group of white Georgia high school seniors thought it would be funny to place a “n***a we made it!” sign on the side of their high school as a senior prank early Wednesday. Forsyth County high school officials say they were angered when they discovered the derogatory sign. 

  Miami Dolphins safety Don Jones was fined an undisclosed amount on Sunday after sending a negative tweet about Michael Sam. Sam became the first openly gay player to be selected in the NFL draft. Jones, will also undergo educational training in light of his actions.

Parents in a St. Louis school district are upset over a controversial sex education book. The book, made available to students in the Francis Howell School District, is meant for kids 10 years and up. 

This past Saturday, Sherwood Brown Sr. and Sherwood Brown Jr. walked across the same stage to receive their college diplomas. Sherwood Sr. received his MBA from Florida A&M University’s School of Business and Industry through the school’s online degree program. Sherwood Jr. earned a degree in business administration.

More than 60 New Jersey high school seniors were arrested early Thursday after allegedly breaking into their school for a class prank overnight. Police say the students urinated in the school’s hallways, flipped desks over and greased door handles.
