  Ferguson, Missouri police chief Thomas Jackson issued a public apology on Thursday to the family of Michael Brown in a short video posted online regarding the teen’s death.

After being reinstated to the NFL, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson released a statement in response to child abuse allegations.  Peterson took to his Twitter account to voice his thoughts on accusations of child abuse after images surfaced of his 4-year-old son being severely bruised after being disciplined by the star.

  Students from three Newark high schools have walked out of class in protest of the state’s control of New Jersey’s largest school district. Community activists and parents joined students from Science Park High, Arts High School and Central High School as they walked out of class on Tuesday.

  Members of BYP100’s Chicago Chapter led a march and demonstration at the Chicago Police Department headquarters on Tuesday. The young Black activists called for an end to racially unjust marijuana arrests. 

A former black editor for People Magazine is suing the company for racism. Tatasha Robertson was reportedly the only black editor at the magazine. She says she was terminated from her job because of the color of her skin. 

A St. Louis police officer who was seen on CNN earlier this week pushing Don Lemon back during a live broadcast from Ferguson, Missouri has been dismissed of his duty. The decision came after officials saw a video of an hour-long speech he delivered that included hate speech against African-Americans, the LGBT community and President Obama.
