SWAT teams in Brunswick, Georgia are searching door-to-door for two boys – 10 and 15 years-old – accused of killing a 13 month-old baby, and wounding his mother.
On Wednesday, the mother of slain 16 year-old Kimani Gray spoke out for the first time since the tragic shooting of her son: “He was slaughtered,” Gray told a room filled with reporters, the AP reports. “And I want to know why.”
According to the medical examiner, 16 year-old Kimani Gray was shot seven times by the NYPD. He was hit three times in the back. Meanwhile, a third night of protests drew over 100 people, and resulted in 18 arrests.
Last night, Brooklyn teenagers took to the streets to express their outrage over the death of 16 year-old Kimani Gray. What began as a vigil for Gray quickly turned into a much more confrontational protest. These young people are fed up.
A woman named Sarah Darling accidentally dropped her engagement ring homeless man Billy Ray Harris’cup. Rather than pawn it, Harris returned it to her. Since then, his actions have gone viral, and supporters have raised $175,000 for him. Amazing.
Two Howard University students are suing Alpha Kappa Alpha for hazing them, and not admitting them into the sorority. They say their familial status – the fact that their mothers are members – is the reason why they weren’t admitted.
At a hearing today, George Zimmerman’s defense team stated they would not be using the “Stand Your Ground” defense at the upcoming Trayvon Martin murder trial.
