Authorities delayed revealing the identity of the police officer who fatally shot an unarmed teenager three days ago in Ferguson, Missouri. Threats against the officer on social media was cited as reason for the delay. 

Tensions reached a boiling point Sunday evening following the death of an unarmed teen shot by a police officer. The violence ensued after a scheduled rally and vigil in the wake of the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. Brown, who was unarmed, was shot to death by a Ferguson, Missouri police officer on Saturday.

The fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager has sparked outrage both on social media and within community in which he lived. 18-year-old Michael Brown lost his life after an alleged altercation with police in Ferguson, Missouri on Saturday.
