Hundreds packed the funeral of 15 year-old Hadiya Pendleton on Saturday. Attendees heard remarks from her loved ones that painted a heartfelt, deeply personal portrait of the young lady; a loving daughter, and great best friend, a normal teenager.
Embattled former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. has reportedly signed a plea deal that will involve “significant jail time.” A source has told the Chicago Sun-Times that jail time would definitely be a part of any plea deal, and that his wife Sandi is the subject of a probe of her own.
The search for Christopher Dorner, a former LAPD office and member of the US Armed Forces who had allegedly killed three people, continues. Dorner feels that he was wrongfully terminated from the LAPD in 2008 for reporting another officer’s brutality against a disabled suspect.

According to the NBC Chicago, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn will attend Hadiya Pendleton’s funeral. He will reportedly speak at her funeral as well. The funeral will be held at the Greater Harvest Baptist Church, at 5121 State Street in Chicago at 9am.
