Assata Shakur fought for justice and freedom as a member of the Black Panther Party and the Black Liberation Movement, before being falsely accused of murder and sentenced to life in prison. Assata escaped from prison on November 2nd, 1979 and eventually found her way to Cuba. She is a true revolutionary.

The principal of Germantown High School in Memphis, Tennessee is in hot water today after announcing to his students the results of standardized state test scores, breaking them down by race and socioeconomic status. The results made Black students appear “less smart” than their white counterparts. What do you think were the principals intentions? Could this ever be appropriate?
