Ever since she was born, Blue Ivy has been in the spotlight. It’s a no-brainer when you have Jay Z and Beyoncé for parents. But the narrative has primarily revolved around the child’s hair. So much to the point where a Change.org petition was created to get the celebrity duo to comb it. 

  Students at Rutgers University are now earning college credit while studying Beyoncé. The course, “Feminist Perspectives: Politicizing Beyoncé,” is available to students for the summer semester. The class is part of the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies curriculum. 

Yasiin Bey a.k.a. Mos Def has canceled his upcoming tour in the U.S. amid immigration issues banning him from coming back to the country. A statement posted on the show promoter’s website last week announced the cancellation. 

    To promote their “On the Run” tour, Beyoncé and Jay Z released a trailer featuring A-list stars called “Run” on Saturday. Now, an online petition has surfaced on change.org in protest of the duo’s claim that the trailer will not be a movie.

Beyoncé will be featured on the cover of Out magazine’s annual May Power Issue (on newsstands April 22). The singer/actress, who released her surprise self-titled video album late last year, is seen as “the perfect representation of what it means to be powerful” by the magazine’s curators. 

After her Mrs Carter Show World Tour ends, Beyoncé will become highest paid black artist of all time. The pop star is expected to make well over $200 million dollars. 

Rutgers University will now offer a course on Beyoncé in the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies.  The class, “Feminist Perspectives: Politicizing Beyoncé,” is being offered during the Spring semester at the college.
