A photo circling the Internet shows students at Glenelg High School raising the Confederate flag at the school’s football game last Friday. 

  In an emotional message, the wife of former Ravens running back Ray Rice broke her silence Tuesday after Rice’s contract was terminated with the NFL. The events followed the release of a graphic video surfacing that shows Rice punching his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer. The couple has been in counseling since the February incident.

A suburban Detroit man who shot and killed a teenage girl on his front porch as she sought help after a car wreck has been sentenced to 17 years behind bars. Theodore Wafer was convicted of second-degree murder in the Nov. 2 death of 19-year-old Renisha McBride. McBride was unarmed at the time.

A Louisiana man shot and killed himself in March while in custody in the backseat of a squad car, according to the Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office. Victor White III, who was handcuffed at his time of death, sustained a bullet wound to the chest.
