According to an analysis by the Violence Prevention Center, Nebraska ranks no. 1 in the nation for black homicide. The Washington D.C.-based center took a look at numbers from 2011, the most recent year for comprehensive national homicide data. But the state’s high ranking isn’t earned from just that year alone.
