  Protesters in Ferguson, Missouri shut down a local Walmart in solidarity with an unarmed 22-year-old black man who was fatally shot by police in Ohio in August. Dozens of protesters, who are in the area for a continued “Weekend of Resistance,” filed into the St. Louis Walmart at 10741 W Florissant Ave. 

  Students at the University of Missouri-Columbia staged a “die-in” demonstration in protest of events happening in Ferguson, Missouri. The demonstration included poetry written by students and reading of names of black men and women who have lost their lives at the hands of police. 

  Over the weekend, thousands of activists, community leaders and concerned citizens gathered in protest of black men being gunned down by police in St. Louis. And according to a video submitted to us by protester Katina Parker, peaceful protesters where pepper-sprayed by police as they exercised their right as U.S. citizens.

  Activists in Ferguson, Missouri protested at the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Saturday evening, by singing a Requiem for Michael Brown, the 18-year-old unarmed black teen who was fatally wounded on Aug. 9. Officer Darren Wilson, who is a member of the Ferguson police department, has not been charged in his murder.
