“Major colleges and universities are undercounting the number of sexual crimes that occur on their campuses in an attempt to downplay the issue, according to new research published in the journal Psychology, Public Policy and Law,” reports ThinkProgress.

“We must muster outrage over the routine dehumanization that happens in our criminal-justice system, rather than reserve it for the most extraordinary instances of injustice, if we are to maintain a movement for change,” writes Jonathan Rapping at the Nation.

  A speech by Lincoln University President Robert R. Jennings has incited controversy over what some people say are insensitive comments about rape. Jennings initially started off talking about how men only treat women how they allow them to treat them. But then the speech took a very ugly turn. 

    Protesters gathered outside the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Monday in opposition of the paper’s coverage of events happening in Ferguson. The activists stood outside the building dressed as old-time newsies and passed out mock-up papers yelling, “Extra, extra. Read all about it. Post-Dispatch changes its name to Post-Disgrace.”

  Officials at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg took back invitations extended to 14 African journalists due to fears of Ebola. The journalists were set to come to the campus for the annual Edward R. Murrow Visiting Journalists program.
