A man was shot and killed by police in a Chicago-area hospital early Monday. Christopher M. Anderson, 27, of Waukegan, pulled out a gun after becoming “aggressive” with hospital staff, according to police.
A $47,000 reward has been offered for the safe return of a 22-year-old Philadelphia woman who was kidnapped a couple of days ago. Carlesha Freeland-Gaither was last seen around 9:40 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of West Coulter Street. Authorities released a chilling video of her abduction in hopes of generating leads.
Two NYPD officers who chased down a teen and hit him in the face with a gun and assaulted him have been indicted by a grand jury and will be arraigned Wednesday in Brooklyn Supreme Court. The officers continued to chase 16-year-old Kareem Tribble, even after he’d stopped running and had raised his hands.
According to a recent report released by the MacArthur Foundation, poor black women are evicted as much as black men are incarcerated. The study also found that for various reasons, low-income women are evicted at much higher rates than men.
