Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a law passed by voters in Michigan that banned consideration of race in the public college admissions process. Eight states have passed laws restricting affirmative action since 1996, despite the racial makeup of college students and graduates evolving.
According to a report released by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, young black men, and adults with lower incomes and less education are the most likely to consume sugary drinks. The CDC report also found that nearly 24 percent of adults drank at least one sugar-sweetened drink a day.
