In light of former MU football player Michael Sam’s coming out, everyone has been talking about homosexuality and sports. During an appearance on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” the former NBA star and sports commentator spoke out about homophobia, and said that the public is more intolerant than professional players.

First, I’d like to start by saying that I do not think Macklemore is better than Kendrick Lamar. Other than “Thrift Shop” and “Same Love,” not much happening on his debut album in my opinion. While the holidays are a time for family and friends to get together, the season can also be difficult and exclusionary for members of the black LGBT community. Due to the alienation, more LGBT African Americans are turning to the holiday of Kwanzaa.
