  The official autopsy on Michael Brown, an 18-year-old unarmed black teenager whose death sparked national protests in Ferguson, Missouri and beyond, shows he was shot in the hand at close range. The accompanying toxicology report reveals that Brown had a trace of marijuana in his system.

    Missouri state senator Jamilah Nasheed was arrested Monday night outside of Ferguson’s police department during another series of protest following the fatal police shooting of an unarmed black teenager in August. Senator Nasheed was taken into custody, but further details were not immediately available. 

  Officer Darren Wilson, the man who fatally wounded an 18-year-old black teen in Ferguson, Mo., said the teen punched him, then reached for his sidearm.   Students at the University of Missouri-Columbia staged a “die-in” demonstration in protest of events happening in Ferguson, Missouri. The demonstration included poetry written by students and reading of names of black men and women who have lost their lives at the hands of police. 

  Residents in Ferguson, Missouri are preparing for a “Weekend of Resistance” set to take place in St. Louis over the weekend. The protests are a result of another 18-year-old black male who was killed by police in St. Louis’ Shaw neighborhood earlier this week.
