  Every year, the Philadelphia Police Department receives scores of brutality lawsuits. But it is unusual for a police officer to make those charges. In a suit filed earlier this week, the unthinkable happened. Sgt. Brandon Ruff filed charges against the department. 

  On Saturday, black fathers across the nation will united for the Million Father March. The march, organized by fathers across the country, is supported by men, women and adults from all ethnic backgrounds. It promotes’ fathers’ active involvement with their children’s education and overall well-being throughout the school year. 

  Video has surfaced of St. Paul, MN police allegedly tasering and arresting a man for “sitting while black.” In a video posted to YouTube, the entire interaction between the unidentified man, who is filming with his cell phone, and police officers takes place.

The all-black Little League baseball team became the USA champions in the World Series on Saturday. For their amazing accomplishments, Chicago will throw a parade in honor of the team. 

As far as we know it, there is no known cure for the deadly West African Ebola virus. But one American doctor appears to be cured thanks to an experimental drug created by Emory University researchers. Kent Brantly contracted the virus while treating infected patients in Liberia late July.
