Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams has dyed his trademark locs pink in honor of his late mother Sandra Hill, who lost her battle with breast cancer in May. The NFL star also painted his toe nails pink in memory of his mom, and to spread awareness about the deadly disease.
White women have held the highest rates of breast cancer in the U.S., but rates are rising among black women. According to a report released by the American Cancer Society, from 2006 through 2010, breast cancer rates increased 0.2 percent among black women.

A Chicago DJ passed away recently, but not without leaving one final words of wisdom. According to the Chicago Tribune, Timothy Jones, more commonly known by his music monicker “DJ Timbuck2”, died on Dec. 19 at the age of 34 following complications from renal cancer.
