President Obama gave remarks following the shooting of 12 Dallas police officers, 5 of whom were killed. Speaking from the NATO Summit in Warsaw, Poland, he declared that there is “no possible justification for these kinds of attacks, or any violence against law enforcement.”

  South Carolina native Ernest Satterwhite, 68, was a former mechanic who had a habit of ignoring police officers who attempting to pull him over. The great-grandfather is now dead after a slow-speed chase which led to his driveway got him killed by a 25-year-old police officer. 

According to family members, a 25-year-old man was complying with police orders when he was fatally shot by LAPD officers in the Florence neighborhood South Los Angeles. Officers responded to a report of a possible officer-involved shooting at the intersection of West 65th Street and South Broadway late Monday evening. 

Unfortunately, as the temperature rises in the Windy City, so does instances of violence. Thirteen people were wounded, two of them fatally, in the past 24 hours. Terrible, tragic news. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by this recent spate of violence.

Chicago is experiencing its warmest weather in months. And unfortunately that means a rise in gun violence. According to the Chicago Tribune, 3 are dead and 17 wounded throughout the city overnight; including a fatal shooting literally across the street from the UIC police department.
