For the past seven years, Urban Prep Charter Academy has managed to send 100% of its students to four-year colleges. Given that the school’s student body is predominately young black men on Chicago’s South Side, it’s a refreshing story that rarely gets old. 

The original plan was for Desert Vista High School seniors to come together while wearing black t-shirts decorated in gold tape to spell out a perfectly innocent phrase, “BEST*YOU’VE*EVER*SEEN*CLASS*OF*2016.” But there was apparently an additional plan among six of those students to get together for a picture of their own.

Claremont McKenna College has suspended five students in connection to a protest in April where they blocked the entrance to a speaking even on-campus. Three students were suspended for a full academic year while two were suspended for a semester, according to the Los Angeles Times.
