Many of us are excited about the upcoming sequel to the cult classic “The Best Man.” Not only can we look forward to seeing The Best Man Holiday this fall, but a select group of students will have the movie to thank for some scholarship money.

After an incredibly stellar performance at the box office this weekend, there are already talks about a third Best Man movie. The Best Man Holiday, Malcolm D. Lee’s sequel to 1999’s The Best Man, floored “analysts” who were surprised that black audiences would show up in theaters for a movie that didn’t star Tyler Perry or white supremacy.

The highly-anticipated sequel The Best Man Holiday enjoyed significant success during its opening weekend. The film, ranking at no.2 at the box office, grossed $30.6 million.
