Boston, a city with a long history of racial violence and segregation got a wake up call yesterday. A group supported by, but unaffiliated with Black Lives Matter Boston, took to the highway to unite against racism.

  The creator of a racist cartoon that made fun of an intruder entering the president’s home apologized and called the cartoon an innocent mistake. Jerry Holbert, whose cartoon appeared in Wednesday’s Boston Herald, took to the airwaves Wednesday morning. 

  A political cartoon published in Wednesday’s Boston Herald has people calling the newspaper racist. The cartoon mocks a very serious security breach that took place where a man jumped the White House fence and actually made it through the door of the president’s home. 

This year’s Boston Marathon boasted nearly 36,000 participants, which is 9,000 more than the number of people who usually participate in the race. The bombing at last year’s marathon that left three people dead and more than 260 people wounded and temporarily crippled the city seemed to inspire many at this year’s race.

On his radio show, Rush Limbaugh compared Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to Trayvon Martin, asserting that both have been treated similarly by the media. He claims that in both cases the media painted light, innocent portraits of “bad people.”

Heba Abolaban – a Muslim woman living in Boston – was attacked by a crazed man two days after the bombings at the Boston Marathon: “He was screaming, ‘F*** you Muslims! You are terrorists! I hate you! You are involved in the Boston explosions! F*** you!’”
