As time moves forward, more celebrities are using their influence and wealth to improve the world they live in. Most recently, Grammy-winning singer The Weeknd has donated $250,000 to the Black Lives Matter movement, according to Billboard. 

Thursday is not a cash grab or some collection of b-sides, and it never feels forced. The Weeknd’s second album is a fully-formed album, thoroughly conceived and well-executed. And considering the fact that it’s being released less than a year after its predecessor, and it’s still really good, I’d say Thursday is a more-than-worthy follow-up.

The Weeknd’s “House of Balloons” is something unmistakably different, relishing in an enrapturing mystery and irresistible insidiousness. Say hello to the dark, smoldering future of Rhythm and Blues.
