  An Alabama teacher is now on paid administrative leave for instructing students to re-enact the Aug. 9 shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown in class. Brown was fatally shot by Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson. An investigation is underway. 

Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Missouri police officer who shot and killed an unarmed black teenager, suffered “a serious facial injury” in the altercation before firing his gun. The information comes from a source close to the officer. 

  The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department released footage captured from a cell phone Wednesday of police fatally shooting 25-year-old Kajieme Powell.  A convenience store owner called police on Tuesday when he suspected Powell stole drinks and donuts from his shop. Another woman called to report Powell was acting erratically and had a knife. 

    A Kansas City Police Department officer is facing an internal review after venting about the Michael Brown shooting on Facebook. Officer Marc Catron’s postings have garnered outrage on social media, due to his strong comments about Brown, who was fatally wounded by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson on Aug. 9. 

With the recent findings in the Michael Brown case, I wonder how long the mourning will last? In a world where brevity and speed is favored over taking ones time, how long will the outrage at Michael Brown’s killing at the hands of Ferguson Missouri Police Officer Darren Wilson last?

  Sybrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Martin, has written an open letter to the family of Michael Brown, the teenager who was killed by Darren Wilson, a member of the Ferguson (Mo.) police department. In the letter published on TIME.com on Monday, Fulton offers her support and advice during this difficult time. 

Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson said Friday initial contact between police officer Darren Wilson and 18-year-old Michael Brown was not related to a convenience store robbery. Brown, an unarmed black teenager, died Saturday Aug. 9 after being shot multiple times by Wilson.
