According to a survey conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Washington Post, African American women experience more difficulties with their finances than white females. The survey cites a lack of confidence in acquiring a good job and education  as the primary reasons for the gap.Â
Of 3,200 children’s books published in 2013, just 93 were about African Americans. The findings are part of a newly released study conducted by the Cooperative Children’s Book Center at the University of Wisconsin.Â
