Former workers in three McDonald’s locations in Northern Virginia, say that they were fired for being people of color. Some were told by management that they “need to get the ghetto out of the store.”

The New York Times reports that Justice Department prosecutors are expected to recommend that no civil rights charges be brought against Darren Wilson. Darren Wilson, a former police officer  in Ferguson, MO, shot and killed Michael Brown in August. No criminal charges were brought against him either.

  Civil rights leaders condemned the ambush killings of two New York police officers and expressed fear that the backlash over the murders could derail the peaceful protests that has grown out of the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
