You would think that most of a Historically Black Colleges and University’s (HBCUs) student population would mainly consist of African-American students. But there are some HBCUs where blacks make up just a small amount of the student body population. Bluefield State College is one of them. 

Morris Brown College lost its accreditation in 2003. They also lost most of their student population. But during a time when the future of many HBCUs remains unclear, the institution remains open with just 35 students.

Walmart wants to boost black achievement. That’s why the corporation has donated $1.75 million in grants from its foundation to three black nonprofit organizations: National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), National Urban League (NUL) and United Negro College Fund (UNCF).
