The Manhattan Supreme Court dropped charges on Tuesday against a Harlem man accused of beating a transgender woman to death. Islan Nettles died in August after Paris Wilson allegedly beat her when he found out that she was born male.

A suburban Detroit homeowner charged with fatally shooting 19-year-old Renisha McBride on his front porch has been arraigned. Ted Wafer made an appearance in court Friday. The 54-year-old faces second-degree murder, manslaughter and felony firearm charges in the teen’s death.
