According to new data released last week, African Americans living with HIV are less likely to receive continuous care. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that blacks account for nearly half off all new infections, despite representing just 14% of the U.S. population.
It’s that time of year. That’s right. We’re two weeks out from Christmas and it’s time I write a letter to some cherubic, portly white dude who bestows gifts upon the nice. I’m pretty sure I’ve been naughty this year, but that’s not going to stop me from asking. Besides, Santa knows any coal I […]
Usually cheating, abuse and drug habits come to mind as deal breakers in a relationship. Actor/Model Boris Kodjoe has a less intense reason. Kodjoe recently opened up to television personality Cherise Nicole about his marriage no-no and let’s just say it’s more likely to happen than not.
Earlier this year we reported on an Ohio school that was forced to change its student dress code after the public became aware that the school made hairstyles such as afros, mohawks, and dreadlocks violations of school policy. It’s not because the Baylor University women’s basketball team she leads beat Notre Dame in the women’s NCAA Division 1 championship a couple of weeks ago, and I like an underdog–even if it is Notre Dame. It’s not because my beloved Tennessee Lady Volunteers were one of Baylor’s casualties […]
If I could take all my parts with me when I go somewhere, and not have to say to one of them, “No, you stay home tonight, you won’t be welcome,” because Im going to an all white party where I can be gay, but not Black. Or I’m going to a Black […]
