BET has unveiled a very important documentary; Murder to Excellence: Life & Hip Hop in Chicago.

The film takes a sobering look at our embattled city of Chicago, where a harrowing epidemic of youth violence has made headlines across the world.

Young people, artists, and community leaders discuss the complicated experience of Chicago youth, and what it will take to change the conditions that create and perpetuate poverty and violence in our communities.

The Black Youth Project is honored to be featured in the doc; but the true spotlight of the film is on our youth, the challenges they face, and the multi-faceted art to which their struggle has given birth.
