Black Twitter outraged over praise for Kendall Jenner’s ‘epic’ hairstyle
Black Twitter expressed outrage following a tweet from Marie Claire’s account that praised television personality and brand ambassador Kendall Jenner’s “epic” hairstyle.
A photo of Jenner with her hair braided in the very common African hairstyle of cornrows was accompanied by the following words: “Kendall Jenner takes bold braids to a new epic level.”
Naturally, Black Twitter was not impressed.

After the backlash, Marie Claire released the following tweets in response to the “misunderstanding”: “We thought her hair looked great and recognize women have been styling their hair like this for ages.” “We didn’t mean to offend or imply that cornrows were new. Our tweet was poorly worded.”
Thoughts on the incident?
Is this yet another example of whites “borrowing” from black culture to make it “epic?”
