*Hey folks. This post just magically disappeared a few hours ago. I’m doing my best to repost as I remember.*

As the Monday blogger, each year I post something related to MLK Day. Generally, I say something totally inappropriate and nearly blasphemous. I’ve ranted about the lack of sales during MLK weekend; I’ve suggested what not to do on the third Monday of January. I’ve even talked smack about modern-day civil rights leaders.

I contemplated using today as my first step in a campaign to turn MLK weekend into an informal black love holiday. With the birth of Blue Ivy and the Will and Jada rumors and everything, it seemed appropriate. But I’ll just reserve that for Juneteenth or something. Since I exorcised nearly all of my Toure demons, last week, I’ve decided to keep it light. Besides, folks are probably too busy clogging Twitter timelines with fake MLK quotes.

So, embrace peace today by forgetting about all the people we bomb and listening to my little contribution to hope and love today: a Tevin Campbell video. I’ll be busy watching black athletes run up and down the floor in honor of the legacy (thanks, NBA); hopefully, I can convince someone to go see Joyful Noise with me. #Dolly
