According to a new study released by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the number of children living in areas of concentrated poverty in America has grown by 1.6 million in the last decade. The study shows that Black, Native American and/or Latino children are more likely to live in poverty-stricken areas.

According to NBC New York, the NYPD’s “stops and frisks” have hit an all-time high; a whopping 684,330 people in 2011 alone. Of those individuals, only 12 percent were actually charged with anything. At this point, is the NYPD’s “stop and frisk” program even remotely justified?

A parent trigger law “allows parents at a school with consistently dismal test scores to file a petition to restructure their children’s school.” Supporters say these laws empower the school’s surrounding community; detractors say such a program is susceptible to abuse. What do you think?
