  Dear White People actor Tyler James Williams has a lot to say about how the media portrays black members of the LGBTQ community. According to the star, the media feeds into the notion that the black community is homophobic, thus contributing to the sentiment that being gay and black is unnatural.

A new documentary is exploring a very rampant but taboo topic in the black community. The New Black, directed by Yoruba Richen, tells the story of how the African-American community deals with gay rights in light of the same-sex marriage movement.
