It appears that an opponent has been selected to go up against George Zimmerman for next month’s celebrity boxing match.

Rapper DMX was selected out of more than 15,000 emailed requests received. 

From CNN:

DMX, as we know is a rapper, and braggadocio is his calling card. He’s out for blood, he told TMZ. Not only will he break every rule in boxing, he said, he’ll “beat the living (expletive)” out of Zimmerman.

Zimmerman was acquitted in July for the 2012 murder of Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old unarmed black teen who Zimmerman says was trespassing. Martin was walking home to his father’s house in Sanford, Fla., after stopping at a convenience store for snacks.

The case, and verdict created polarizing views on race and the justice system, separating the nation.

Zimmerman originally requested Kanye West as an opponent, saying that West picks on “innocent defenseless people.”
