Mother calls 7-year-old’s klansman costume a family tradition
Halloween has come and gone, but racism last forever. The mother of a 7-year-old boy is defending her son’s choice to dress as a klansman for Halloween.
Jessica Black of Virginia says the attire is a family tradition.
“My brother has when he was in Kindergarten and when he was 13,” she says. When Black’s 7-year-old son asked her if he could also dress as a member of the white supremacist group, she made him the costume. “It was cool,” said Jackson Black, when asked why he wore the controversial costume. “I did tell him that if you do it, you know there’s going to be people talking about you, there’s going to be people saying bad things about you when you do wear it,” said Jessica Black.
Neighbors were reportedly shocked when they saw Black’s costume. Jackson said he saw the costume in the movie ‘Fried Green Tomatoes.’ Jackson’s mother says that there’s nothing wrong with the Ku Klux Klan or her son’s costume choice.
” The KKK every year, raises money to donate to the St. Jude’s,” said Jessica Black.
Black has received several threats via social media after a picture of her son in the costume surfaced on WHSV’s website.

And the ignorant hate continues to reign alive and well.
