Petition demands apology from R. Kelly

The release of Black Panties has come with a deluge on non-album related publicity for R. Kelly. Just a few weeks ago, the #AskRKelly hashtag meant to allow fans to ask the singer questions became an opportunity for folks to make fun of or ask questions about the sexual abuse allegations that threatened Kelly’s career.

To add, the Village Voice posted an interview with music critic Jim DeRegatis, who revealed in great detail, the before and aftermath of Kelly’s trial. Now, Kevin Powell has started a Change.org petition asking for the boycotting of Kelly’s music until Kelly apologizes for his behavior.

Chris Brown Says ‘Stress,’ ‘Non-stop Negativity’ Caused Seizure

Pop star Chris Brown suffered a seizure early Friday due to “emotional stress” and “nonstop negativity,” according to a rep for the singer.

 

From The Los Angeles Times:

 

“His doctor tended to him this afternoon and attributes the NES to intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress, both due to the continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and the nonstop negativity,” his rep said in a statement.

Remembering Whitney Houston on Her 50th Birthday

Today would have been the 50th birthday of the legendary Whitney Houston.

Whitney will always been in a class all her own as a vocalist and entertainer.

Though her later years were often marred by stories of her personal troubles, we will always remember Whitney for her once-in-a-generation talent.

Usher’s Son Nearly Drowns in Swimming Pool; Ex-Wife Files for Emergency Custody

R&B singer Usher’s son nearly drowned after his arm became stuck in a swimming pool’s drain.

Initially, the boy’s aunt – as well as Usher’s housekeeper – were unable to pull him out.

 

Responding to their cries for help, two men installing sound in Usher’s downtown Atlanta home ran to the scene and were able to save five-year-old Usher Raymond V.
