VIDEO: Here’s why Richard Sherman was upset
New footage released by the National Football League provides a closer glimpse into the moments leading up to NFL star Richard Sherman’s bizarre rant.
It appears that an act of good sportsmanship on Sherman’s behalf is part of the reason why Sherman went off during a post-game interview with Fox Sports’ Erin Andrews.
Watch the video here:
Sherman helped seal the team’s spot in the Super Bowl by blocking a pass intended for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree with just 22 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter.
After the win, Sherman chased down Crabtree as he walked back towards the sideline, slapped him on the butt and said “hell of a game!” twice before extending his hand for a shake. In response, Crabtree grabbed Sherman’s helmet and pushed him away.
