A Staten Island man who was participating in a basketball tournament dunked over an NYPD squad car in memory of Eric Garner Friday evening.

Officials over the Under The Lights basketball tournament reached out to police who were patrolling the area to see if they would be willing to participate during the dunk competition.

Officers pulled their squad car onto the court and parked it under the rim.

20-year-old participant Brian Hogan-Gary jumped over the vehicle, dunking the ball into the rim.

Watch the sentimental act here:

Onlookers said the moment was surreal and memorable. Hogan-Gary then took off his jersey to reveal a t-shirt with the words “R.I.P. Eric Garner” etched across the front.

May we continue to fight for justice.
