SNL has come under fire for its lack of diverse on-screen talent and writers, a concern they have attempted to correct by hiring Sasheer Zamata and Leslie Jones. However, even with the new cast, the show has struggled with problematic skits (re: Jones’ “slave skit“). One has to wonder how Solange’s very black presence will fare on the show.
While Solange will be the musical guest for the Nov. 5 episode, Doctor Strange and Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch will be the host. Best of luck to Solange as she continues to add to her list of firsts, including topping the Billboard charts.
Solange Knowles excellent singer with beautiful voice. A Seat at the Table love this album, I think it shows her growth as a musician.
