Trey Songz, Harold ‘Noonie’ Ward hold ‘Christmas in the Hood’ annual toy drive for at-risk youth
R&B sensation Trey Songz has teamed up with Chicago businessman and activist Harold “Noonie” Ward to bring smiles to at-risk youth this holiday season. The two formed a bond after witnessing a violent altercation in Chicago.
Out of the altercation, “Christmas in the Hood” was born.
“He was in town when we saw some bs together where some kids got hurt,” Harold “Noonie” Ward told AllHipHop.com. “He said lets do something to help this these kids, so we both said at the same time ‘let’s do a foundation together.”
Trey Songz and Noonie hope to give away over 5,000 toys during the event, which will take place December 21 at the Chicago Youth Center (CYC) in Chicago.
Members of the Chicago Bulls basketball team and a variety of other industry celebrities are expected to be in attendance. The event is still seeking toys for donation to be handed out.
Sponsors wish to submit toys for the annual giveaway have until December 18 to donate.
