Usher’s Son Nearly Drowns in Swimming Pool; Ex-Wife Files for Emergency Custody
R&B singer Usher’s son nearly drowned after his arm became stuck in a swimming pool’s drain.
Initially, the boy’s aunt – as well as Usher’s housekeeper – were unable to pull him out.
Responding to their cries for help, two men installing sound in Usher’s downtown Atlanta home ran to the scene and were able to save five-year-old Usher Raymond V.
“They’re doing CPR on him now,” Oden told the operator. “Is he coming around? He’s breathing!”
Sound technician Eugene Stachurski rescued the child from the drain and used CPR to revive him on the side of the pool, the police report said.
About five minutes into the recording, Oden told the operator that paramedics had arrived at the home and had taken over.
The child was “conscious, alert and breathing” when the ambulance took him to a hospital, where he was kept overnight for observation, the police report said.
Usher’s estranged ex-wife, Tameka Foster, has reportedly filed emergency custody in the wake of the incident.
Foster lost primary custody of her two sons with Usher last year.
Great to hear little Usher is doing ok
